Nilfisk-CFM delivers the perfect underground cleaning solution

After 13 years of construction the Zurich by-pass tunnel in Switzerland is now complete.

During the construction process  the constructors received a helping hand from Nilfisk-CFM with the help of a Nilfisk GB 930 vacuum and a 200 litre pre-cleaner the drilling head was kept as clean as possible.

A dirty drill head could make everything stop - and a one day breakdown of the drill would amount to €33,000.

One of our Swiss customers received the contract to clean the drilling head. The cleaning process is highly specialized as the electronics can be cleaned only with water vapor as the workers need to have unrestricted sight.

Nilfisk specified a GB 930 with a 200 litre pre-cleaner. Some of the exhaust air is blown back to the chamber to produce a depression and to blow away the water vapor.

Because of this cleaning the drill has been carried out with less breakdowns. Working together and understanding exact customer requirements enabled Nilfisk-CFM to deliver the optimum cleaning solution.
